Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 16 August 2026. These terms apply to every quote, order and delivery from Build Your Brand.

1. Who these terms bind

Any professional work carried out by Build Your Brand ("we", "us", "BYB") is only undertaken pursuant to a quote provided by us and accepted in writing by you (the "Client"). Every quote we provide is subject to these Terms & Conditions. We reserve the right to amend these terms at our own discretion; the version in force at the time you accept a quote applies to that order.

The person accepting a quote — whether by signature or by email — confirms they have the authority to do so on behalf of the Client, and this binds the Client, its members, directors, or whoever is responsible for its day-to-day management, to payment within the agreed time. A quote accepted by email is treated as accepted the moment that acceptance is sent to us.

2. Quotations, acceptance & validity

Prices are not published on this website because branded-merchandise pricing depends on quantity, branding method and current stock. Submitting a Quote List or enquiry is a request for pricing, not an order — nothing is confirmed or charged until you accept a written quote from us. Quotes are valid for acceptance for 14 calendar days from the date on the quote, after which pricing may need to be reconfirmed. Once you accept a quote, you agree to these terms, unless we and you agree to additional terms in writing.

A quote is based on the costs prevailing at the time it's prepared and on the written specification you gave us; it may be amended if those costs move, or if you later change the specification, before work is completed.

3. Stock availability

Stock indicators shown on this website are indicative and confirmed at the time we prepare your quote. Because stock is drawn from supplier networks, it's possible for an item to sell out between browsing and your order being placed — if that happens, we'll offer a suitable alternative or a full refund of any deposit paid for that item.

4. Deposit & payment

An 80% deposit is payable on acceptance of your quote. The balance becomes payable on delivery, or on collection from our premises, whichever applies. If your quotation total is less than R5,000, the full amount is payable upfront before work begins. Accepted payment methods are EFT and card — details are provided with your quote. Quotes exclude the cost of any primary electrical wiring for signage; this is quoted separately on request.

5. Artwork, proofing & approval

Every order includes a digital artwork proof, which you must approve in writing (email or WhatsApp) before we begin production; production only starts once you've approved a proof, and, where applicable, once your deposit is received. If you're unavailable to review a proof or don't request one, you carry the risk for any resulting dispute over content, sizing, colour, copy or finishing. We're not liable for errors present in an approved proof, and corrections requested after the first proof — including changes of style — are charged as an additional cost.

We prefer instructions and quote amendments in writing; we're not liable for errors arising from a misinterpreted verbal instruction. Colour proofs may be supplied digitally, by email or WhatsApp — because of differences between proofing methods and final substrates, we can't guarantee an exact colour match to a screen or printed proof, though we always aim for a commercially acceptable result. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, typesetting, artwork, colour separations and other intermediary material needed to complete your order are charged separately. Sketches, prototypes and designs we submit on a speculative basis remain our property; no use may be made of them, or of any idea drawn from them, without our consent. You confirm that any logo or artwork you supply doesn't infringe a third party's intellectual property, and you're responsible for the accuracy of the content you provide.

6. Minimum order quantities & lead times

Minimum order quantities are listed per product. Once you've approved your artwork, paid any required deposit, and we have everything we need from you to start, production typically takes 10–15 working days, unless we agree a different timeframe with you in writing. This is an approximation to help you plan, not a guaranteed delivery date — please allow enough time before your event or deadline when accepting a quote. We're not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control (for example, industrial disputes, accidents, equipment failure or other events outside our control).

7. Pricing

Clear pricing is confirmed before production, including applicable branding and setup costs. Delivery is quoted separately.

8. Delivery

Delivery is not included in any quoted or listed price unless expressly stated. Delivery is quoted separately, based on your location, order size and weight, and will be confirmed to you before your order is finalised. Collection from our Pretoria premises is available on request at no delivery charge.

9. Client-supplied materials & property

If you supply your own paper or material for us to work with, a charge for handling, storage and profit applies, as determined by us. Anything you supply or leave with us is held at your own risk.

10. Suspended orders

If you ask us to pause work on your order for 14 calendar days or more, we're entitled to payment in full for all work completed up to that point, and we may revise the quote for the remaining, uncompleted portion before resuming once the pause ends.

11. Ownership & retention of title

Ownership of goods we produce remains with us until you've paid the full amount owing on that order, regardless of any extension of time we may allow you. If you default on payment, we're entitled — without prejudice to any other right we have, and without further notice — to recover goods that haven't been fully paid for from wherever they're being held, and you consent to a court order for their attachment and removal if necessary. We also hold a lien over any of your goods or property in our possession for unpaid amounts, and may dispose of them 90 days after the debt was due.

12. Cancellations

Orders may be cancelled without charge before artwork is approved and production begins. Once production has started, cancellation may not be possible for custom-branded items — see our Delivery & Returns Policy.

13. Guarantee & fault repair

Signage products carry a 30-day guarantee from sign-off, provided the fault is directly attributable to our work and you report it to us within 2 days of noticing it, so we can limit any damage and repair it promptly. Faults reported after that 2-day window aren't covered by this guarantee and are repaired at an hourly rate of R550 (excluding materials).

14. Copyright, trademarks & indemnity

We quote on and produce every job in good faith and don't investigate whether artwork or content you supply infringes someone else's rights. If it becomes clear that you've wilfully or negligently infringed a third party's copyright, trademark or intellectual property, we accept no responsibility for producing the goods, and you indemnify us against any claims, costs or damages arising from illegal, libellous or infringing material you supplied.

15. Limitation of liability

We aim to deliver accurate, on-time, correctly-branded products, and encourage you to supply print-ready files and proof your artwork carefully. We're not liable for copy or design errors in files you supply, and we won't refund or reprint an order because of an error in your files or a failure to properly check a proof we sent you. Our liability for any claim relating to an order is otherwise limited to the value of that order; we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss (including loss of profit) arising from a delayed or faulty order, except where required by South African law.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
